What is Apply To, How to Use?
Updated over a week ago

What is "Apply To" ?

The "Apply To" parameter allows you to specify the source of the candle data from which your chosen indicator will be calculated. By default, indicators are calculated as the closing value of the candle ("Close") unless this parameter is modified.

With the "Apply To" parameter, you can calculate indicator values by selecting the candle's highest price value ("High"), lowest price value ("Low"), closing value ("Close"), opening value ("Open") and volume value ("Volume").

For example, for the RSI indicator, when the method for calculating the value on a candle is set as volume, the RSI value will be higher on candles with high volume.

How to use "Apply To" ?

  1. Click add a new rule on Workshop menu's "Enter Algorithm" section. From the line you added, select an indicator for which the "Apply To" tool is defined. For this example, we will use the RSI indicator.

2. Click on the gear icon above.

3. Click on the box under the "applyTo" heading on the screen.

4. Select the desired source value and save it by clicking the "Save" button. For this example, the "Volume" is selected. Now the RSI indicator will generate value by calculating with "Volume".

By default, the RSI indicator is calculated with "Close", which means candle closing data. When "Volume" is selected, RSI values are calculated based on the volume data of the candle.
